WHAT IS COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE?
Community acupuncture is a movement that aims to make acupuncture affordable and accessible. Patients receive acupuncture in a shared space with other patients and the rate is based on an affordable sliding scale. Distal needling techniques are often used. Those with back pain or complex conditions are highly encouraged to schedule a private session.
what is included in a private session?
Our private sessions are very focused and offer a fuller experience. We offer three types of privates sessions: 1) Private Simple includes full body acupuncture in a private setting 2) Private Basic adds cupping and electrical stimulation to acupuncture; 3) Private Package includes all basic session services with the addition of massage (Swedish, Shiatsu & Deep Tissue). Privates are highly recommended if you have back pain or a complex condition that requires in-depth discussion.
how does herbal medicine work, and is it safe?
The use of plant medicine has been in existence for thousands of years. Many prefer to address their health concerns with herbal medicine to avoid the side effects of pharmaceuticals. Different herbal traditions utilize their own unique methods. With traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), herbs are usually combined into a formula for a synergistic effect. Powder extracts have grown in popularity for their convenience, however the use of raw herbs is the most potent form. All herbs dispensed at Remedy Wellness are sulfite-free, species-verified, and tested for heavy metals and dangerous pesticides.
may i fill out new patient forms prior to my initial appointment?
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to your initial appointment to fill out the required forms. While not required, filling out the forms prior to your appointment helps your session go smoothly. Please contact us, and we will gladly email them to you upon request.
What is your missed appointment & cancellation policy?
We are a sliding-scale community clinic and no-shows take away slots from those who need them. We therefore have a very strict cancellation policy. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Failure to do so will result in a fee equivalent to the price of the current treatment, including the initial intake fee, if applicable. We require a credit card to confirm your appointment and if you do not comply with our missed appointment and cancellation policy, your credit card will be charged. We do our best to make time for you and expect the same.
what forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are accepted. If paying by check, a valid ID is required - $30 returned check fee applies. Thank you Oakland for your patronage.
